Artist's Comments

Should we always take the easy way
or go through doors like this
in order not to regret
anything later?

I took this during my stay in Minneapolis and it took me some comprehensive reworking (and HDR) to get to that result. The original picture's wall was almost completely white.
Let me know what you think and enjoy!

"Regrets" by *Raider92:

Simply one word to discribe that picture?
PERFECT. GREAT. UNDISCRIBEABLE.
Okay, there are some words I could use to discribe that picture, but I can't decide which ione I should choose.

Okay, when I'm looking at this photograph, I'm thinking about Matrix. I know, that sounds stupid but it shouldn't sound so..
What is behind that door? Another world?
Just a hall?
A productive machine steeling workers their job?
And so on..

But:
Where the hell shall I look at this picture? There are so many difrent details I want to explore, so that's why I'm sitting more than 20 minutes behind that shot. To see every little detail.
The door, the lamp (?) in the upper right, the firecase in the left downside..
The shadows are doing very well in the picture, it fits great, one side is darker, the other not.

Oh wow.
You see, I'm just in LOVE with that shot and with that photographer.
You've done a quite great job, I think that's one of your greatest pcitures!

My first impression was: Simple, but great!
And I guess that's exactly what makes this picture special. There's not much shown, "just" a door and a wall. But Stefan just managed it to create an awesome atmosphere with this simplicity. I really like the dark / bright contrast between the left and the right side of the picture and of corse the used colors! All in all it can be said, that Stefan just showed, how to make a great picture out of a non spectacular, pretty normal thing.

It represents something like a cut in his gallery, because it's totally different to his many night shots. That's the reason why Stefan is in my opinion definetly an awesome photographer, whose pictures are all worth to take a look at!

Okay then. Since you're giving me the honour of using your picture as an idea, I'll let you be the first to read what I've written. Deal?
